I'm trying to install the Microsoft Office Document Imaging Writer in Office 2007 as a 'printer' which I used to use frequently under Windows Vista 32bit. Now I have upgraded to Windows 7 64bit and no 'printer' installs. I'm aware of kb/927383 but that bulletin pertains only to Vista 64bit and says to check the Windows 7 site for more info about a Win7 installation. When I check the Win7 compatibility center, that says Office 2007 is fully compatible with Windows 7 and mentions no restrictions on 64bit installation of the Imaging Writer or need for upgraded drivers.
I really need to be able to create.mdi files. There is a workaround using the print-to-XPS Document Writer that I've seen discussed elsewhere but the people I work with cannot accept.xps instead of.mdi files. So, is there a way to install the MS Office Document Imaging Writer on my Win7 64bit machine or not? If so where/how do I get the driver I need?

If a Win7/64bit driver is not currently available, is one in the pipeline?
